Park Serve Day Douglas State Forest
April 29, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
GIVE A DAY! MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
BSTRA, NEMBA, and DCR will be partnering up to finish the last “link” that will tie together all the work we did last year to establish a connector trail from SW Main St. to an existing trail that connects to the SNETT
Where: Meet at the headquarters building which is 107 Wallum Lake Road, Douglas MA. From there we will car pool over to the SNETT.
Time: 8:30 check in, liability waivers signed. 9:00 trail work starts. Work until 1pm.
Project work will consist of putting in a bridge and hauling in rip/rap stones from the pile on the SNETT.
If we have a lot of people, we will split the group and have others work on trail trimming.
Wear appropriate clothing for working in the woods, including sturdy shoes and wear gloves. If you have long handled loppers, bow saws or pole saws, please bring those with you.
Work will consist of cutting and brushing back. Brush will either be stacked or dragged into the woods.
Lunch: provided by BSTRA for all volunteers.
Contact: Becky at 508-476-3960 or bstra@charter.net so we can have a head count and plan accordingly.
