BSTRA, NEMBA and DCR will be partnering up to continue improvements to the trail work we did this spring.
To finish up connecting the new Rocky Brook trail with the new connector across SW Main St. that goes to the Spur Trail. The Spur Trail will come out onto the SNETT, but we need to put in a bridge.
This work day is going to be a prep work day. There is a lot of work that needs to be done before we can get the actual bridge built and installed.
Where: Meet at the headquarters building which is 107 Wallum Lake Road, Douglas MA. From there we will car pool over to SW Main St.
Time: 8:30 check in, liability waivers signed. 9:00 trail work starts. Work until 1pm.
Wear appropriate clothing for working in the woods, including sturdy shoes and wear gloves. If you have long handled loppers, bow saws or pole saws, please bring those with you.
Work will consist of cutting and brushing back. Brush will dragged into the woods. There is going to be a lot of heavier work involving moving stones.
