Park Serve Day Douglas State Forest

BSTRA and DCR will be partnering up again this year to celebrate Park Serve Day. Since Park Serve Day began in 2006, tens of thousands of Massachusetts residents have helped to prepare Massachusetts state parks and beaches for the summer recreation season. Please plan to come out and join in on April 3rd. RAIN DATE April 10th.
Where: meet at 107 Wallum Lake Road, Douglas MA (Headquarters building)
Time: 8:30 check in 9:00 trail work starts. Work until 1pm.
Wear appropriate clothing for working in the woods, including sturdy shoes and wear gloves.
Work: 1) Two bridges over Rocky Brook need geo-textile material and pea stone installed. 2)Making a straight across crossing of Wallum Lake Road from the Grand Trunk. And some brushing and cutting back after the crossing is done.
If you have long handled loppers, bow saws or pole saws, please bring those with you.
Lunch: provided by BSTRA for all volunteers.
Covid -19 Protocol: Stay home if you are sick. Maintain physical distance of at least 6 feet for those not in your “family” group. Wash/sanitize your hands. Masks required when you are at the table to register/get your lunch/ or any time you are closer than six feet from someone else.
